Job Summary

The mechanical engineer will take full responsibility for the research and development of new products as well as improvements for existing products. Additionally, the ideal person for this position will have relevant experience and capacity to plan and implement manufacturing processes, equipment and systems to produce our products.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Take responsibility for all research and development projects
  • Develop new products and collaborate with team members when required
  • Work with suppliers to procure:
    • Sheet metal fabrication
    • Aluminum extrusion
    • Injection molding
    • Rubber extrusion
    • Custom hardware components
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for product design, manufacture and installation
  • Installation instruction manual creation and editing
  • Lead and participate in partition mock-up installations to test the partition systems
  • Responsible for implementing and managing an inventory system
  • Overseeing manufacturing operations, and being involved (hands-on work) as needed
  • Researching, sourcing, and installing new equipment for manufacturing
  • Assisting with CNC work as required


  • Hands on ability, ability to use tools and build things
  • Understanding of Imperial fasteners
  • Ability to program and operate a CNC machine
  • AutoCAD expertise
  • SolidWorks expertise (or Autodesk Inventor)
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Mechanical aptitude to develop and test prototypes
  • Attention to detail, precision and quality
  • Ability to use a miter saw/upcut saw

Non-Essential, but Valuable Experience

  • Millwork installation/manufacturing experience is valuable
  • Familiarity with the construction industry
